Privacy policy

Ariose is made by Vinicius Mendes Kastrup Magalhaes. This policy covers the Ariose iPhone app and this website.

The short version

The Ariose app doesn’t collect your personal data. There’s no account, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Your voice is analyzed on your iPhone as you sing and is never recorded or uploaded. What you practice stays on your device.

The app

Your voice and the microphone

With your permission, Ariose uses the microphone to hear the pitch you sing and to find a starting note when you hum. Audio is processed on your iPhone as it arrives and then discarded. Ariose never records, stores, or sends your voice anywhere. When you add a song by humming, Ariose keeps the notes it detected, not the audio.

The camera and Mirror

Mirror is optional and stays off until you turn it on. With your permission, it uses the front camera to find the position of your jaw and lips with Apple’s on-device Vision framework. Frames are analyzed on your iPhone and discarded: no image or video is recorded, stored, or sent. Ariose keeps only a few numbers from your Mirror setup and a short summary for each drill, such as how many cues it gave.

Your practice data

Your journal, results, check-ins, settings, songs, and custom drills are stored in the app on your iPhone. They aren’t sent to us or to anyone else. Like other app data, they may be included in your iPhone’s backups to iCloud or a computer, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy. Deleting Ariose deletes this data from your iPhone.

Reminders

If you turn on practice reminders, Ariose schedules them on your iPhone. You can turn them off anytime in your iPhone’s Settings, under Notifications.

Crash reports and usage statistics from Apple

If you’ve chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may share crash reports and anonymous usage statistics with us. Apple controls this, and you can turn it off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

This website

This website doesn’t use cookies, analytics, or tracking. It’s hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Email

If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply to you, and we don’t share them.

Children

Ariose isn’t directed to children under 13, and the app doesn’t collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
